| to boldly go |
The need to tolerate ambiguity is a necessity of the modern workplace. Individuals who struggle with rapidly changing workplace demands will find themselves dealing with escalating stress related issues. This workshop session aims to offer individuals an insight into their own behaviour and the effects it has on workplace relationships in order to increase confidence and self esteem.
The changing demands of the modern workplace require the need for open honest relationships to increase effectiveness and efficiency and the ability to recognise the behavioural tendencies that weaken workplace relationships.

| presentation skills workshops |
| |
These one or two day workshops run throughout the year and we also provide individual tutoring for those who need additional support.
The prospect of facing an audience to deliver a speech or a presentation is something, which alarms most of us. Mark Twain, a gifted orator, once said that his mouth felt as if it filled up with cotton wool whenever he had to give a speech. Similarly, Disraeli once said, ‘I would rather face a battle charge than deliver a speech to the House! ’Nervousness is normal and suggests that the adrenalin is flowing sufficiently to keep you ‘on your toes’. The problem is when the balance is tipped and rather being ‘on your toes’, you are literally unable to speak!
Our courses prepare you to to build and achieve memorable presentations which will guarantee that you will achieve your aims.

| team development work |
Many people want to develop and strengthen their teams. Unfortunately the word team is often applied to a collection of individuals with very different agendas. The effect on productivity and motivation can be devastating. We cary out a range of behavioural interventions ranging from experiential learning to facilitated sessions in which the learners are offered the opportunity to debate their differences in a safe and supportive learning environment. We do not stop there though we also help the more dysfunctional teams to develop a set of shared values. These become the rules of the team. This work has proved very successful and has set many teams free to be more creative and responsive to organisational needs.
OBJECTIVES
- To discuss and debate the journey of the team so far
- To develop and strengthen the relationship between team members and those who have a stake in the success of the wider organisation.
- To develop a set of shared team objectives encompassing the operational code of conduct for the team.
- To re-energise the team through development of shared values.
- To share a collective vision of the role and purpose of the team
- To have fun
We also organise active team development residential work. Please contact for more information. Back to management course list ... |

INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMMES |
| limitless futures |
One in three employers give their staff lessons in basic English and maths, the CBI says and yet we are also told that A level results continue to improve and record numbers of people go on to University. Why is it, therefore, that so many individuals feel uncomfortable with their level of educational attainment and employers are constantly disappointed with even the basic standards?
Many people were simply never inspired by school or by the education they received. They found it boring and irrelevant to their lives and became so disaffected that they never returned to the classroom. The reasons for this disaffection are complicated but primarily it is often the place where issues of adult control are played out. If the teacher is seen to be unfair in the exercise of authority then it can leave a life time scar in the way the individual views the classroom and learning in general. If home reinforces the belief that school is the place where you should unquestioningly accept the authority of the teacher and yet the teacher appears to be exercising unfair control then it can lead to many behavioural problems. You can sometimes start to play the classroom clown or the rebel, much to the delight of your friends, but to the very serious detriment of your future learning. For other people acceptance by their friendship group was far more important than listening to the teacher. If you were also experiencing problems at home, whether emotional or financial, then getting out into the world of work and earning your keep and sometimes earning the keep of others became the driving force.
The sadness of all of this is that adults are losing out in terms of earning potential and the emotional satisfaction of recognising just how rewarding the world of learning can be. Even if an individual recognises that they are now ready to return to education the array of courses on offer can be overwhelming. We offer a range of business and management qualifications, life skill training and coaching to those people at an educational crossroad. Don’t let the experiences of the past limit your future
